Desi Dance Network Inc. has high expectations for its members regarding appropriate conduct. Appropriate behavior is described in our Code of Ethics & Professional Conduct, and applies to all members, including anyone affiliated with our Legends Partner Competitions. If an individual or organization affiliated with your Partner Competition is suspected of engaging in misconduct, DDN Inc. has the right to terminate the partnership between your organization and DDN Legends, thereby revoking your Legends Partner Competition status. Legends reserves the right to nullify a team’s scores (give them an automatic last place at a PC) or disqualify them in extreme circumstances, including, but not limited to, inappropriate or offensive team conduct at a Partner Competition. We encourage individuals & organizations to report such incidents using the incident report form.Each PC will be required to have a SW Chair on their board, who will be ensuring the successful execution of safety & wellness measures. This document provides a description of the SW Chair’s roles and responsibilities. PC Directors & PC Safety & Wellness Chairs will be added to a Slack channel with Legends SW team to remain up to date with information on requirements and deadlines.
Each PC will be assigned a designated point of contact on the Legends SW team. To aid in SW planning for your competition, we require all Partner Competitions and Affiliate Competition(s) to create and implement a Safety & Wellness Plan (SWP). A copy of this plan can be found here. The SW Chair will be required to meet with their Legends SW point of contact twice before their competition to review and approve their plan. We highly recommend competitions to provide Bystander Intervention (BI) and Sexual Assault Prevention (SAP) trainings for their boards in an effort to cultivate a safe and fair competition environment for all dancers and artists. Two specific trainings in these categories that we recommend include a Bystander Intervention (BI) Training created by Legends SW and Callisto’s Learning Module. We also encourage facilitating trainings by external organizations on these topics for your board members, and local resources can be found here.
